The Grapevine Girls      9"

Intermediate skill level

The Grapevine Girls are diminutive 9" fairies made from painted (woven) cotton with needle sculpted faces and tiny paperclay hands.

The CD includes 4 separate lessons.

Instructions cover controlled needle sculpting and coloring a small face; assembly of body parts to convey realistic postures; and creating posed, proportionate hands from wire and paper clay.

The focus for costuming expands on simple applied techniques for wrapping the body and making a basic embellished slipper. Specialized costuming includes creating stitched grape leaf wings with organza and free motion machine embroidery.  Wings and shoe pattern included.
